BLOCK ISLAND:
RE, RE, - Planted, 02 Feb 09

Hello to all,.. Well its proved that the "Block Island" Letterbox CANNOT STAY in it's original spot.
I am QUITE tired of providing a souvenier to tourists. Since there are tooooo many eyes on you at the original spot,... The box is being moved to a better LOCAL. (it's actually a better carving!)
ON Rt. #1 in STONINGTON,.. At the Greenhaven light, make your way to "BARN ISLAND" BOAT LAUNCH.
If you are coming from Westerly RI - LEFT,... If from Stonington, or (the old clues) - RIGHT at this
Light,.. Then an immediate Right again. You'll see the lil brown sign w/ boat. Follow this narrow Rd. all the way until just before the "LAUNCH" parking area. (careful of cement R.R.Bridge in Summer, it's Narrow & boat trailers are on this Rd.) Just before the boat launch is a small pull off to your right. Park here, if you can! Directly accross the street is a Green Gate. Walk past this gate & walk past Your first signboard (blue) on your right, another 35 or so steps. On your Right you will notice 4 more
Info boards. After reading this info about this "Marsh",... Your treasure is in a cave, behind #3,...
Info-board,.. on the backside of the very SQUARE piece of Granite "BLOCK" (Is.) Please contact us of any maintenance to this box, or even to say Hi,... We found it! - ENJOY!
"The Compass Cuties"
P.S. - You may obtain a nice hike & stamps here w/ "Marshwalks of "The Butter/Flutterby" & "Relic" by WandaandPete which is on your way.

5 Boxes of these Islands have been redone. #1 "Local Island Series" Will Not be, So don't bother there (Avery Pt.). Start At either Bayberry Boat Launch or Stonington Pt. for your quest.

The FISHERS ISLAND box has new directions only due to high tides. Go to the tree hanging out of the grass, turn around and look up hill. See the Lg. Red Oak on the right? There's a very slight path to the right, to a multiple fingered SHAD tree, behind it, your prize is under a couple well placed rocks. BE careful of sparce Poison Ivy!!! ALL other boxes are redone and where they should be.

PLEASE notify us for any maintenance.
Thank You,
The Compass Cuties
