Travel on Rt. 290 to exit 23B (go North on Rt. 140 Boylston) Proceed approximately 2 miles to the light of the Rt 140 and Rt 70 intersection. Take a left at the light going south on Rt 70

Travel approximately 1 mile to Orient St on the right. go to the end of the street and park in the Manor Park parking lot.

Look for the orange pumpkin carriage located in the kids' playground behind the baseball and softball fields. Feel free to take a swing or a twirl. Get in touch with the kid inside you. With the baseball fields behind you and the pumpkin immediately on your right, the beginning of the trail is directly in front of you.

As you enter the trail it is rocky, sandy, and is a steep incline. Don't worry, it levels out at the top of the incline and it remains this way to the end of the trail on Tivnan Drive. Once you reach the top of the incline, you will have a nice view of the expanse of the trail.(During the spring/fall there are many school-aged activites.)

Proceed as the path veers to the right. Ledge is abundant on the left side of the trail. Continuing on the trail you will come to an opening in the typical New England stone wall. The path continues between two green painted rocks.

Proceed on the path for approximately 0.3 miles and stop on the mound. The mound is located between two flat rock formation on the ground on the right side of the path. While on the mound and still on the trail, looking on the left side of the trail with the flat rocks and houses behind you, look for the tree that forms a "Y." Look between the upper part or opening of the "Y" and you will see a rock formation in front of you. It is located under the precipice in the wooded area up on the hill. Doesn't it look like the "Pride Rock" formation from the famed Disney movie, The Lion King?

Now turn and face the two flat (like) rocks on the right side of the path. While on the path, walk towards the rock on your right side.

Walk around to the backside of that rock. Find where the tree trunk(roots) fit into the rock itself. The letterbox is located right where the tree meets the rock. It's amazing how trees grow.

Please replace the letterbox carefully!

Feel free to continue on the path. The entire path takes only about 10 minutes to walk if you walk a slow-moderate pace. You may have guests. People have been known to see wild turkeys, foxes, and bunnies while walking on the trail.
