Don’t Forget To Play
Please NOTE -- reported missing in July 2014 by a well known boxer . I have not checked it out myself so sorry when this happens .. .
Plan a fun day to play at Chatfield Hollow State Park . During the summer time add swimming and fishing to the fun Year round there are many hiking trails , of course many letterboxes hiding there as well . In winter cross country skiing and snowshoes are fun and year round you can bike the paved park road .
How about sitting on a great flat mound of rock high up , and playing cards .?
Give this a try . Find the dressing rooms at the beach and across the way is the trail head of the Red Trail . Up you go , the stairs are in need of some work , but you can climb up with little trouble . At the top of the stairs , the red trail wiggles around a small rock ledge and soon comes to a mid size Spruce tree on the right of the trail . At 180 degrees and about 15 steps is a split rock . Stop and pick up two suits .!
Continue on and up on the Red Trail As the trail levels off by a huge boulder on the left of the trail , stop on top of a flat stone , a great place to sit and play cards. Look east to a 2 sister tree just off trail . , and a big rock with its mouth open . There hides the other two suits.
Have a fun game . ! If you have a map . you can continue on the Red Trail and see where it comes out , or – just turn around and go back down the stairs .
Hope you enjoy fun at Chatfield Hollow State Park .
