Box #3 Assuming you have covered the first .9 mile of the trail.
From the orange gate you'll cross Stockton Road. Soon you'll see the first mile marker.
About 3/4 of a mile you'll see a group of large rocks that look like half buried tombstones, also a place to sit is in the clearing. These mark a path leading down to Dreck Creek Reservoir, follow this.( Please be careful the path has become very eroded) edited clues; before the worst of the erosion there is a new path at the right that meets back at the lower end of this path. When you are back in the path look for a multi tree, at the left of this tree walk 11 steps till you see a snag up the incline to your left. At the tree look to a lichen covered rock about 3 steps away, to the left of this rock under a stone and bark. Don't forget to check out the view by the lake.

Box #4 Continue down the main trail you'll come to a place with a lovely view and a place to rest.Keep going until you pass the orange gate stay to left on the main trail. (Maybe 2 tenths of a mile?)
Go on down the trail watching the view on your right, when you see the metal bridge crossing the weir of the dam, line yourself up with it.

Now for some local lore:
There use to be a path coming from Beaver Meadows over the mountains ending up at local coal mines, this is how the miners got to work, on two legs. It is called Jacobs path-there is a set of stone steps coming up the hill from the lower road but they disappear before they reach the trail we are standing on. (If you must check this out please go back to the orange gate to the lower road, there is a problem with erosion and kids may be tempted to go under the fence.)

Back to the box. Standing in the trail with the bridge at your back you'll see a rock 310 degrees with a cave, I( re)placed the box to just below the rock. It seems a small critter did not want to share the cave. After 8 years the new tenant pushed out the rocks and box now, the original is gone.

Hike length: 3-5 miles
