This box was placed here as it is close to my husbands parents house and we have taken my nephews here to play in the summer months when visiting.

The City of Pottsboro is located just 75 minutes north of downtown Dallas, on Lake Texoma. The area was settled in 1879 by James A. Potts, a pioneer settler who donated land for a town and a right-of-way so that the Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railroad could extend its tracks westward from Denison to the area. Because of the railroad extension, the town became a business center and was incorporated in 1880 as "Pottsborough". With the establishment of the post office in 1891, the "u-g-h" was dropped by the Federal Government, thus we have our current spelling, Pottsboro.

This box is located in Friendship Park in downtown Pottsboro, next to the elementary school.

Directions: Take US 75 North from Dallas to Pottsboro, near the Oklahoma State Line. Take exit number 69, for FM 120. Go West into pottsboro as you come into downtown you will see Friendship Park on your left. Pull into the parking lot and park in the far right slot. You will see a bridge with a red rail on your right. Cross over this bridge to the outdoor seating area near the logcabin. Face the front of cabin. what you seek is under the porch to the right of the steps. Happy Hunting! Please use caution as this park is very popular with families.
