Lily Bay State Park in Beaver Cove is located 9 miles north of Greenville, Maine. The park is open year round.
If you visit between May 15th - October 15th there is an entrance fee of $ 4.50 per person ($ 3.- for residents of Maine).
BOX STILL IN PLACE (9/5/15)
IF THE PARK IS CLOSED YOU CAN PARK OUTSIDE THE GATE (DO NOT BLOCK THE GATE)
WALKING DISTANCE TO DUNN POINT IN 1.7 MILES (ONE WAY) FROM TICKET BOOTH
Directions to the park can be found on our Lily Bay State Park Letterboxing clue.
Difficulty: Easy
Length: 20 - 30 minutes roundtrip
From parking lot (as stated in Lily Bay State Park LB) face the water, head south (left) on paved road passing boulders on your right. Turn right into the woods at the outhouse sign. Take the trail to the left of the handicap sign. Take approximately 75 steps on this trail.
Continue down the dip to a grassy area. Look to your right and notice a 3 sister birch which appears to be growing out of a rock. (At the time this box was reinstated, beavers have made their mark on this birch). Behind the rock is a 2 sister cedar. The loon is at the base of the cedar hidden under twigs, rock, and pine needles. Please rehide carefully.
To get back to your car you can either retrace your steps or follow the water's edge to the boat launch. From the boat launch, turn left, and walk on the paved road to the parking lot.
Since we cannot check on this box very often(live in CT) we
would greatly appreciate any e-mails concerning its status.
