This walk is a nice easy one, there are a few hills involved but nothing I would consider strenuous. Bikes and pets are allowed on the trail but, I wouldn’t recommend them I think the rocky bits may not be good for either. Children should find this walk easy but be careful on the rocky water’s edge with really small children.

Box has no ink please bring your own

“Present from Princess” clues

From the parking lot of Old Mine Park head to the new Rails to Trails Path at the far end of the lot.

Begin your nice leisurely walk thru the Park and continue on for awhile, you will end up passing under the Route 25 Expressway and turn uphill to the right.

You will then follow the path as it makes a sharp turn left and back down the hill.

As you stroll down this hill you will notice wooden guard rails running along your right hand side.

Just after these rails end you will see a second set about to begin on you left hand side.

At the point where these rails begin look left and see a path leading up the right side of the rock/boulder face.

Follow this path up and you will very quickly cross over two natural stone steps.

At the top of these steps look about five feet in front of you and see a white rock in the middle of the path.

Cross over this rock and follow the path as it quickly narrows and runs along the right side of an oval shape rock top.

Once past this rock top turn instantly right and follow the path as it goes downhill.

You will see one last large tree in front of you almost at the cliff edge, there will be a flat rock at its base.

From this flat rock look of to your right and see a sharply angled tree whose root/trunk goes under a smaller tree.

Follow the path right and towards this tree.

Continue downhill with this tree to your left to where you see a tree whose bark has been scared by an axe.

You are now standing at the edge of a stream bed with a really nice itty bitty waterfall on your right hand side.

Cross the stream here (unless it has rained really hard it should be dry)

Once across the stream bed follow the path as it leads left and quickly passes the flat rocky water’s edge on your left.

Shortly after you will see a large group of rocks behind a tree to your right. Move to the lower left area of these rocks to find my present to You.

Be careful to stamp unseen which depending on the day and time may be a few minutes. Also please make sure the box is secure and well covered before departing, or dipping your feet in the water.

To get back to the main paved path head up to the moss covered rock and turn left.

You will actually be able to see the paved path uphill and thru a split in the wooden guard rails.

Special Note:
1: Although, Parlor Rock Early Amusement Park can be accessed from two different sides the clues are written so you are going to want to start at the parking lot of Old Mine Park.
2: This box is hidden within view of multiple points of traffic walkers, runners, bikers, swimmers, and even a house so please be as stealthy as possible!
3: This letterbox was placed after I did the Undercover Siblings Boxes. I realized I missed a great place to hide a box. So bring along both sets of clues and you can find them all in the same day!

Old Mine Park is located in Trumbull, CT it is very easy to get to.

Coming from either side of I-95 you want to get off at exit 27/27a for Route 25/8 heading towards Danbury. The road will split and Route 8 will go off to the right make sure you stay left or actually straight on Route 25. This is the Route 25 Expressway. You will begin to see signs for the Expressway end, which is a rather large four way intersection. At this intersection turn right onto Route 111 and the park will be on the first street to the right. Follow this street to the end into the parking lot, not even 1 ½ miles.

Coming from either side of the Merrit Parkway you want to get off at 49/49a for Route 25 heading towards Danbury. This is the Route 25 Expressway. You will begin to see signs for the Expressway end, which is a rather large four way intersection. At this intersection turn right onto Route 111 and the park will be on the first street to the right. Follow this street to the end into the parking lot, not even 1 ½ miles.

Enjoy-may the faerie dust lighten your day!
