This is a fun series that will take you around the school grounds and ball fields of the Omro School District. There are 5 boxes in this series. Four of the boxes are micro boxes with just the stamp and 1 regular box with the logbook and a stamp. The logbook is located in the Church Box which is the 4th box.

This is a fairly busy rec trail, so please be discreet finding and rehiding the boxes.

You will need to start at the beginning of the Omro Fitness Trail. It is located on the corner of N. Webster Ave and Fox Trail. You can park on the west side of the street on Webster after you cross Fox Trail, please read the parking signs. Make sure you grab a trail map, you will need it for a clue later. Bring some mosquitoe spray for going through the school woods. The bugs can be thick at times.

THE CLUES:

#1. Softball/Baseball Box

Begin walking down the fitness trail to the north,on the side walk. Notice the speed limit signs. Add the 2 speed limits together, the answer will = A.

As you get to the 2nd softball diamond the trail will go to the left off the side walk and turn into a gravel trail. Follow the gravel fitness trail.

Shortly you will came to a bench and a T intersection. Take the path to the left and take as many steps as there is fitness stations. You will need the trail map to find this clue. After taking these steps, take a compass bearing of A__ x 2. The softball is at the base of the tree just off the path at the compass bearing.

#2. Football Box

Return back to the bench and continue on your original heading of east on the trail. You will pass along side the football field. Looking forward down the path you will see school buses and a small tin shed on your right. Follow the path as it curves around the tin shed and stop at the fitness stations. There will be 2 fitness stations here. Picking the lower number of the 2 stations, find a tree with that many trunks just off the trail. On the north side of that multi trunked tree is a hollowed out spot at its base. Here is where the football is hiding. Before leaving the fitness stations add the numbers of the fitness stations together. This number will = B. You will need this number to find the school bus box.

#3. School Bus Box

Enter the school woods and take the trail to the right just after you enter the woods. This path will take you though the school woods and wind around toward the school buses. As you make the last corner and start heading back to the west the trail will run along side a chain link fence, with the buses being on the other side of the fence. Walk to the corner of the fence. There will be a pair of double trunk trees to your right. Take a bearing of 180 and take B___ steps into the woods. The school bus is parked at the base of the tree on the southern side in a small hollow.

#4. Church Box

Go back to the trail and take the next right just up the trail and head out to the prairie. This will be the longest hike of the series before the next box. But is a very nice walk and very flat going. Follow the path through the prairie and it will double back past one of the ball diamonds. When you came the bench and T intersection where you found the first box turn right and head north down the trail. It will soon cross a small bridge and hike around the elementary school. Like I said this is a bit of a hike to the next box, but I know you can make it. Soon you will come the First Presbyterian Church. Stop at the church information billboard just before the blacktop drive way. Notice the address for the church. Add the 3 numbers together. Now put a zero between the 2 numbers of your answer. This number will = C. From the north edge of the blacktop drive take C___ steps down the trail. You will come to a tree that is trying to reach out onto the trail with one branch cut off. The church box is located under the trunk of that tree. Make sure to rehide well as this box could be visable from the trail otherwise.

#5. Soccer Fox Box

The Omro school mascot is a fox. This box is dedicated to Freddy Fox.

Keep going down the trail and soon you will be out of the wooded area and coming up on the soccer field. Just before the soccer field you will come to a drainage ditch with large rocks and a concrete slab. There will be a log house on your right. Stop on the concrete slab and look to the east at a bearing of 90 degrees on your compass. You will see one of the Omro schools. I hope your vision is ok. Count the number of O's in the name of the school = D. Take D___ x 3= E. Now walk across the concrete slab, turn to your right and take E___ steps along side the large rocks of the ditch. You will be at a large square rock with a step like rock in front of it and long pointy rock to the left of it. The Soccer Fox is hiding under the large square rock with a very small rock hiding it. You will not have to move any large rocks to get this box, only the very small rock hiding the box.

You should be able to see your car from here.

Thank you for any updates and I hope you had fun.
