LETTERBOX NAME: Northwest

LOCATION: Berks County, Pa.

DATE PLANTED: May 2003

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
START HERE: Justa Road parking lot at the end of Justa Road, off Brownsville Road, north of Wernersville, Pa.

Walk past the gate and follow the continuation of Justa Road at heading 290 degrees until it meets another road. Go north, and continue until you come to a Y at the bottom of a hill. Take the left fork of the Y uphill and down the other side. Just before the waters' summer edge is a trail on the right. Take it and follow as it goes up, crosses a pipeline clearing, down, crosses a macadam road, continues north, joins with another road, then takes a right hand turn. Now woods are on the left, and fields are on the right. Begin to look carefully for a numbered sign on the left. Then 140 degrees to a large tree. At uphill base of large tree, under rocks, is Northwest.

LETTERBOX NAME: Northeast

LOCATION: Berks County, Pa.

DATE PLANTED: May 2003

STATUS: As of May 1, 2006, this box has been relocated. Clues have been revised for this new location.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the location of Northwest, return to the trail and head east as the trail continues, crosses a wooden bridge, then turns uphill where it meets a trail coming in on the right. Head north and continue until you find a numbered sign on the right. Then due North to a double tree. At base of double tree, under rock, is Northeast.

LETTERBOX NAME: Southeast

LOCATION: Berks County, Pa.

DATE PLANTED: May 2003

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
START HERE: Find the parking area just off Fire Tower Road between Kratz Road and Scott's Run Road that is 3/4 of a mile due west of the dam at Scott's Run Lake.

Proceed uphill past the gate a short way to the trail that crosses the road. Turn right. Follow the trail throught the woods, past the cool water visible on the right after a left turn. Continue uphill to a trail coming in on the left. Follow heading 206 degrees as the trail runs gradually downhill, then becomes rocky and starts uphill with small banks on both sides. Pass a line of rocks running diagonally across the trail. Continue heading 170 degrees until the trail has a rock border on the right. Find the large triple tree on the right that is six paces past the end of the rock border. Then 98 degrees and 17 paces to a double tree. Look at the base of the double tree under a rock to find Southeast.

LETTERBOX NAME: Southwest

LOCATION: Berks County, Pa.

DATE PLANTED: May 2003

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the location of Southeast, return to the trail, follow heading 60 degrees until you meet a trail coming in on the right. Turn right, pass a triple tree on the left, Ross on the right, and No Deer on the left. Continue uphill to where a faint trail crosses the trail you are on. Turn left onto the faint trail and continue to #5. Then 330 degrees and 12 paces to a large rock, 256 degrees and 18 paces to a tree with rocks around it's base. Slide the large rock to the right to reveal Southwest.

NOTE: Usual cautions apply, especially concerning hunting season.
