This box was planted in honor of my daughter’s 8th birthday. We picked our favorite spot in the park; it has a nice place to sit & watch the kids skip stones into the water. & such a beautiful view of the river! We hope you enjoy this place as much as we do. This is our first Letterbox so we are very excited to hear feedback about our box!

This box is located in Lewisville park. It is a beautiful park with a lot of area to explore. There is a bunch of really neat letterboxes at this park, so bring a stack of clues & enjoy! Here is a link to a map of park. You may want to familiarize yourself with the map if you have never been:

Go to Lewisville park. Pay $2 & then turn right at the first road. Follow that road through the wooded area & over the bridge & then into the large parking area near the "Oak" or "O", covered picnic area.

Once you park, you will see a big open grassy area with a backstop. To the left of there, look for the 2 sets of swings & go to them. Behind them is a lone slide. Turn right & follow the wide path behind the slide. The path will merge with another large walkway at about 100 feet from the slide & continue to the right, along the river. Walk until you reach the gift from “the friends & family of Bill Stinson”. Have a seat & enjoy the view of the Lewis River. Look to your right at the two picnic tables. Go to the one furthest away. To the right of the picnic table, on the river’s side @ about 190 degrees, there is a small, rocky trail. Follow the path down the hill a short ways until you find a 3 trunked maple with the “Sunshine” at its base, hidden under moss & rock.
