9/1/12 - Packaging is all new. Hopefully it will stay dry. Thanks to Teddy Bear Love for drying out the old book. Clues updated

Today was the first full day of summer and it was a gorgeous day in the Litchfield hills. This box is planted at the Beckley Furnace Industrial Monument in East Canaan. Check their web site for directions and other information.

We found a great place for the box along the Blackberry River just below the dam but before we could get it hidden, a man with a car full of kids showed up to go fishing right there. So, we had to look elsewhere.
From the parking area, walk across the bridge. Don’t take the private drive. Go straight up the wide trail. Watch your footing on the loose stones tho'. They can be ankle turners. Alternatively you can go up to the open gravel area and take the trail east. The footing is slightly better but this trail has become a bit overgrown. Either way, go till you see the pointed boulder on the left with the tree next to it. Look on the east side of the rock. Cover well when you’re done.
Enjoy your summer.
