*** Please help! I'm told this stamp is broken, but I'm not nearby to go and fix it. If someone would be willing to take along some super-glue and some foam/rubber sheets (probably 2-thicknesses to make it stronger) to fix it, I and others would be appreciative! To fix, you'll need to put glue on the back of both halves of the broken stamp and then glue them (in tact) to the rubber sheet. The stamp is approx. 2.5" x 4". You'll need to be willing to hold the stamp in tact until the glue dries (takes several minutes). Please let me know if you're planning to help me with this matter. Thanks!

Enter the town of Winterset on Hwy 169 and proceed to the old town square section of town (around the courthouse). On the north side of the town square block, you'll see the Madison County Chamber of Commerce and Visitor's Center. Go into the Visitor's Center and get yourself a map of the Madison County covered bridges. The staff there are a wealth of local knowledge. If you're planning on letterboxing after hours, you'll want to go to www.madisoncounty.com for a map of the county with bridge locations and interesting historical facts.
Either way, you MUST have a map of the Madison County bridges to find your way to each bridge on this series of boxes.

Bridge #1: Cutler-Donahoe

Using your map, find your way to the Cutler-Donahoe bridge in the Winterset City Park. Just after entering the city park, park on the right in the gravel lot. You'll see the bridge to your immediate south. Leave your car and set out on foot.

Walk through the bridge to the other side. As you get through the far side, circle back to the left. The letterbox is located where the bridge meets the ground. Feel around, up and under. Congratulations!

A couple of other interesting spots in this park are a cool shrub maze just east of the bridge and the lookout tower to the south. Take the time to enjoy them!
