Turtle Crossing is just a fun carving. I don’t know about the rest of Texas but around here we seem to have a season for when turtles cross the roads. Somehow, about 2 years ago, friends starting bringing us turtles when they found them crossing the roads, we now have about 10 turtles in our backyard. So anyway, this was just a fun carving reminding us of these turtles.
From Quinlan, go east on Hwy. 276. Go through West Tawakoni and over 2 mile bridge. Turn left on FM 513 and go 5/10 mile to Hooker Cemetery on the left.
Find the (Chris headstone) fishermen looking at the hawthorn bush. On the west side of this bush look under it, here you will find Turtle Crossing.
You passed West Tawakoni City Park on your way here. Make sure you got the boxes at that park. Also be sure to check out the boxes in Royse City and Greenville.
To get to Greenville, turn right out of the park. The second light, just past Sonic is Hwy 34, go right or North on 34 into Greenville.
To get to Royse City from here, turn right out of the park. Go up to the second light and take a right onto North bound 34. Go to the second light and take a left onto West bound 276. Take this for about 7 miles to West bound 35. Follow 35 into Royse City.
Also note that Quinlan is about 30 minutes from Tawakoni State Park which is a very nice park to camp at.
To get to Quinlan and West Tawakoni:
From Terrell, go North on Hwy. 34. Turn right onto Hwy. 276 at Budget Saver.
From Greeville, go South on Hwy. 34, turn left onto Hwy. 276 at Brookshire’s.
