Every year on the day after July 4th, the town of Boulder gathers for a big community party on the lawn of the Boulder Mountain Inn. There's an Ice Cream Social hosted by the Hell's Backbone Grill with delicious homemade toppings (Buttery marshmallow! Dark chocolate fudge! Rich caramel!). Everyone feasts on ice cream, and then settles in for an all-town talent show. It's a great time, and you're invited too.
The Ice Cream Social letterbox was planted in celebration of this glorious good time.
Go find the gas pumps at the closed up store at the junction of Burr Trail and Utah State Route 12. You can open the easternmost gas pump, very gently because it's an old thing, from the south side. Be sure to close the plastic container well; It's kind of loosey goosey.
It will not accommodate a hitchhiker.
