I made this letterbox because there is a Girl Scout memorial Plaque at the Waterford Duck Pond. Also my daughter recently had her Flying up (or Bridging) ceremony, to a juinor girl scout, here.
From New London: Follow Boston Post Rd (Route 1), past the split at the high school. Turn left just past the baseball field (oneway sign) into the parking lot.
Start your search at the Gazebo. Look across to the Duck Pond and notice the bridge. Walk across the bridge, and keep walking to the checker table on your right. From here walk 17 steps to the bench. Look behind this bench for the Girl Scout memorial plaque. Stacy Ray 1987-1996 Junior Girl Scout Troop 3400. Continue around the Duck Pond, keeping it on your left. Take your second path on the right. Walk 29 steps and notice the multi-trunk bush like tree on your right. Just off the path behind the tree under some fallen trees is the prize you seek.
