Find your way to the blue trail at the junction of Reeds Gap Road and route 68 in Durham. Parking is limited at the trailhead, you may want to park down the hill in the dirt parking area which is at the corner of Reeds Gap and route 68. This is a busy area, so please be careful getting to the trailhead.

This is not a hike for young children and dogs should be on a leash, especially at the top.

You will be taking the blue trail to the North.

Follow the blue trail for quite a ways, watching out for invasive species and winged messengers along the way. You will go down a very steep hill and then up. When you get to the top, walk along the trail which follows the edge of the mountain and enjoy the wonderful views. When the trail starts to turn away from the edge, look left for a fallen tree. Look at the stump end of the log on the backside for the box. From here you may continue on for other boxes or turn around and return to your car. If you forge ahead just a bit you will come to the witches den, and we all know what's there. If you continue on and have several hours you can walk the length of the trail to Black Pond.
