I named this Christmas in July because everyone was so nice to us when we visited that I wanted to leave a little gift. I also have memories of visiting my aunt and cousins here when I was a teenager. Both my Mom and Aunt delivered papers on a driving route in the wee hours and had lots of "fun experiences" in the snow. The funniest thing was that on Christmas Eve my sisters, cousins and I (6 girls) all slept on the living room floor and the giant Christmas tree (that looked stable during the day) fell over on us during the night! This stamp was also something I thought I could do fairly well while riding in the car:-)
I'm guessing this is about 1 mi. round trip mostly on a paved path. I tried to make it so you can, hopefully, find this one in winter/snow without digging!
Anyway, on to the clues:
Find Tim's Hot Rods
Park just before Barker Bridge in the gravel lot across from Tim's.
Stroll West on the nice wide paved path along the South side of the river.
Look for a nice bench on the left side of the path.
Count 120 strides from the SE end.
See the rock that is about 1' diameter along the left side of the trail?
Ok -you might have to look for this or just go from the paces and you should be close.
From the edge of the path near the 120th stride and the rock take 23 steps West to the tallest Pine tree in the vicinity.
The box is hanging about 3 ft. off the ground on the SE side which should be near where you would approach from the path. I placed a pine cone on top as cover and so you might find it easier. I can't guarantee it will stay but it would be nice if you would put one back on when you leave.
Please try to tread lightly and fluff up things you may have stepped on so we don't wear an obvious trail straight to the box :-) Since I am out of town please send us an update too.
