Driving south on route 354 today, I noticed a couple of cemeteries that I'd not seen before. The first one to catch my eye was Wilcox Cemetery. No stones but it was mowed and the horses in the ajoining pasture were racing around.
Going south again I saw a sign that said Paugwonk Baptist Cemetery #1. I continued on to the blinking light and parked on the corner of Witter Road and route 354 (it appears to be a vacant lot) then walked back to the cemetery. This one is VERY overgrown with grass, bushes and briars taller than some of the headstones. Very sad.
As you walk up the gravel "drive" there's another sign on a tree to the left. In back of that tree is a slanted rock. In back of the slanted rock is a box.
Continuing south is a Lathrop Cemetery and then the Baptist Cemetery #2 next to the "new" Baptist Church. The first church (which burned) was just north of the Baptist Cemetery #1.
