Take El Camino Real south from the intersection of Page Mill (exit on I-280), Oregon Expressway (exit on 101) in Palo Alto. Take a right onto Matadero Ave (0.5 miles). Take a left on Laguna Ave and look for the sign for Cornelius Bol Park.
Starting from the Cornelius Bol Park sign, take the path to its left that leads into the Park following alongside Matadero Creek. At the end of the meadow there are a few optioins – stay on the path bearing right.
At the water fountain, take a left on the bike path. Cross the bridge over Matadero Creek. On the right you’ll find the Donkeys, Niner and Perry for whom this box is named. Rumor has it that Perry is the model for Eddy Murphy’s character “Donkey” in the movie Shrek.
After visiting our friends head back over Matadero Creek and take the gravel path to your right. When the path splits, bear to the right – closer to the creek.
Just as the path starts to go steeply down, you’ll see a sandbag wall on your right with a leafless tree above. At the base of the tree you’ll find your treasure.
