Brenham is a small Texas city situated about half way between Houston and Austin. It has a population of 13,507. The area is known for Bluebell Ice Cream and spring wildflowers. Downtown Brenham has antique shops, specialty stores, restaurants, and a great Bed and Breakfast. Brenham hosts free live-music events Saturdays in July, called “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes.” Several streets around the courthouse are closed down so people can bring chairs and enjoy the music. Food and drinks are sold, but some people bring their own coolers. Festivals are held in downtown Brenham throughout the year. If you walk from one end of downtown to the other, you wouldn’t cover more than half a mile. Check out the calendar for Brenham at:

CLUES:

Raggedy Ann is spending some time in a downtown Brenham store. Since this letterbox is easy to get to, you’ll just have to do a little research/thinking to figure out which store she’s in. The correct store will be very obvious. If you don’t think, “of course” when you find the store, it’s not the right one. The store shares a window with another store, so make sure you enter the correct door.

Miss Suzie is usually behind the counter. To get the letterbox, you’ll have to ask her, “Does Raggedy Ann live here?” If you ask about a letterbox, she’ll not know what you are talking about. If Miss Suzie and her ladies are at lunch when you go by, I suggest heading to the nearby Must Be Heaven for some Bluebell ice cream or sandwiches. That’s probably where she is anyway.

Miss Suzie’s store (that is not what it’s called) is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 11 to 5 and on Saturday from 11 to 4.
