BAILYWICK PARK
9501 Bailywick Rd, Raleigh

This is a sweet park with a few trails.
This hike is about 1/2 mile of easy hiking, NOT for bikes.

TAKE GLOVES AND WEAR LONG PANTS..POISON IVY IS ALL AROUND!

Park near the playground.

Box #1 "ON WISCONSIN"

Take the path that leads behind the play area.
As you reach the two benches that face one another, at the T, go to the Left.

Take the first Foot Traffic Only path on the Right.
Follow the path along until you see a long log lying on the L side of the trail.
Go 18 paces from the end of the log, turn to the left side of the path.
Look for the huge mound of roots from a fallen tree. Go to the L side of the root, peer over into the base of the root, the box is buried there near a new tree.

The Wisconsin state bird is an American Robin, and the flower is a Wood Violet.

I was born in Sheboygan Wisconsin, moved away to California when I was 2, my sister kept getting pnuemonia, so they wanted to live in a hotter climate. I love WI though!
ON WISCONSIN is the state cheer/fight song, for ball games.

Box#2 "New York, New York!"

Follow the path along. Stop at a large downed log on the right. A hitchiker is hidden in the end, behind a piece of bark. For the first to find it, either put a new hitchhiker there or just take it somewhere else.

There is a very crooked tree on the other side of the path on the Left. Go 20 paces and look to your left into the wood.
You will see a tree with a large crevice in it. Go to it. "NEW YORK, NEW YORK" is hidden in the crack behind some bark, please rehide it well.

The New York State bird is an Eastern Bluebird and the flower is a rose. (Start spreading the news, I'm leaving today, I want to be a part of it, New York, New York...)

We lived in NY for a few years, on Long Island. We were there for a huge snowstorm too! Soon after that, we moved here!

Box #3 "I wish I was Biking"

Go 12 paces back from the tree, and you will find a hitchiker in a downed log, just inside the hole. Take me away please!

Follow the path. take the first Right and go to the paved road, to the left. Cross the bridge.
Follow the path until you see the black lightpost on your right. Go to it and cross road and head back down the entrace road toward some rocks on the left. Walk on the left side of the road. When you get to the rocks, count the 4th rock from the left. "I Wish I was Biking" will be hidden under that 4th rock, a small rock is in front of it. Be sure to put it back the same way.

I love to bike, don't you? If you want to venture out to "To the Birds #2" and find those letterboxes, it has a nice biking trail!
