An appropriate place for a Belgian beer, since the two countries have had close economic ties for decades.

To find this box you'll need a copy of the map for the permanent orienteering course. You can pick one up at the park office, which is open M-F 8AM-5PM, or contact DVOA (http://www.dvoa.org). Route choice is pretty much your own on this one, so I don't recommend this box for a beginner; you need to have some good map skills. (That said, if you find that you've lost your bearings, heading north or west will eventually bring you to either the lake or a road....)

The spot you're looking for is shown as a small building SE of the lake. From control 9, it's 400 m to the east; from control 10, it's 250 m at 160 degrees. (Note the map is from January 2000 & some of the features have changed....) Once you reach that spot, look across the trail to the southeast to a large hollow tree. The cement block in front of the tree holds the letterbox. Watch out, raspberry plants have thorns....

When I planted the box, I parked in the lot at the end of Duchess Lane & went out to the two unwired power poles east of control 10, then south to the corner of the field & followed the vehicle track south. On the way back I saved some steps by heading west when I reached the tree line in the field, then jogging right at the T & continuing northwest to the trail intersection just south of control 10. Again, just be aware that the area has changed slightly since it was mapped. (This may not be the best/most direct way to the box, but I thought it was a fairly interesting route.)
