Mr. Potato and Mrs. Corn are celebrities in North Branford, Connecticut the weekend of August 2-3, 2008. This series of boxes is available only on that weekend.

Read all about them at www.townofnorthbranfordct.com - click on the Potato Festival link.

The stamps in this series are all "stamp and color" ones. Bring your own ink, black is best. After stamping all four images in your logbook, feel free to return to location #1 where "R" has a box of colored pencils in appropriate colors. She will also offer a cool drink of water and a place to sit and color your pictures!

Your search will begin as you enter Totoket Valley Park on Route 22 in North Branford, CT. Don't worry about parking. Plenty of parking is available on site, or a handy shuttle bus will bring you in from sites both North and South.

Box # 1 -- Welcome to the North Branford Recreation Department's 7th Annual Baked Potato and Roasted Corn Festival! Look for "R" in a brown and white striped tent as you enter the crafts area.

Box # 2 -- His bright smile belies his shy nature, but Mr. Potato disappeared when so many people showed up here today. When last seen, he was heading for the "Stage One" amphitheater and disappeared down in the parking area for the entertainers. It is quite near Farm River! There are twin sycamore trees, quite handsome specimens! His favorite hideout is under some SLPORs under the sycamore to the left.

Box # 3 -- Mrs. Corn was spooked by all this crowd of people, too. She ran up the double track road used by the entertainers and the hay rides, so when you follow her up the hill be careful and give right-of-way to the hay rides! She ran toward the old white farm house. The first trees she ran past were too difficult for her to climb. She found the perfect tree on the left side of the road. I think it is an arborvitae.

Box # 4 -- Now that you are this close, stop in and say "Hello" to our North Branford farmers who are displaying and selling locally grown fruit, veggies and maple syrup. They are nice folks, and watching over this final box which you may obtain simply by asking for it!
