******4-5-09: Boxes #1 & #2 are confirmed missing. It sure is a sad day! I have some comments about that- but then this would no longer be rated 'G'-- Box #3 weathered the Winter well though and is ready for the next finder. I will re-carve and re-place as soon as I can!******

(Note: Please check the Rock Cats home game schedule. Planning to go boxing on the trails while the Rock Cats are playing at the stadium will cause a parking issue. It will be mobbed and/or you will have to pay $3.00)

Our family has a BIG problem! Follow our trail and discover what our issue is. Now, you might have your own opinion about our issue. Regardless of what you think, you have to promice to put ALL of our hand-carved stamps in your book... ALL OF THEM! NO EXCUSES!
All of the stamps on this trail are hand-carved. I am hooked on carving and I am quite proud of these recent creations. Tyler & Emily carved their first stamps too... these are in boxes 1 & 2 as bonuses. Ink is in the boxes and the COLOR is very important. Please be attentive and do not inadvertantly take the ink.

Clue 1 (WILLOWBROOK PARK):
(Quick Note: I have been informed of poison ivy around this box. Sometimes people shove it WAY into the tree and it becomes hard to retrieve. Please hide well, but not too far into the tree. Thanks.)
Enter the park from the main entrance on Rte 71. Drive to the far left corner and park in the gravel lot. In the farthest corner of the lot you will see some large boulders and cut tree trunks marking the entrance for the trail. Very soon into the trail, you will see a tall downed tree on your left, parallel to the trail. Only 2 steps off the path, reach into the trunk where it once was attached to its base. (Tyler's bonus stamp is in here too!)
Ahhhh..... now that you have found Box#1, are you getting a clue as to the nature of our family's issue? I think you are! If not, search on and you will! (Despite my personal opinons, I am especially proud of this carving!)

Clue 2 (WILLOWBROOK PARK):
Continue up the path. You will come to a tunnel on your left. Pass through the tunnel and under the highway. While you are in there, try singing the Star Spangled Banner. The acoustics seem to compliment even the worst of voices (mine!)... it's better than singing in the shower! After the tunnel, keep to the right, heading slightly uphill.
(((((Something else interesting here...... right after the tunnel you will see one cement step, like you would see leading to a house's front door.... this leads to a tiny path that does not go very far... take a quick detour up here to see the most amazing spiders and webs! Unfortunately, little Emily screamed so loud I thought someone was going to call the police on us! So our box did NOT find its home here... but the spider webs are so amazing! Be careful when you walk in so you don't disturb them.))))))))))
OK, back on the trail after the tunnel, leading up the slight hill..... Soon, on the right side of the trail you will see another large downed tree. This big beauty's tree-top now reaches all the way down to kiss the trail. We wondered how LOUD it was when it fell!?!?! There are several downed trees along this trail, but this one is impressive. Another distinguishing feature is that it left its sister standing alone... and it is still slightly attached from where it once hailed. At the base of the sister tree, facing the trail, there is a secret, slender crack-- reach in here and you will find what you lack. (Emily's Bonus stamp is in here too!)
OK.... You MUST get it by now! The boys in our faily like Box#1... where the gals are digging this Box#2!!! But we do have a solution... keep searching for Box#3!

Clue 3 (WILLOWBROOK PARK):
Return to the trail and continue up the hill. Just before the trail divides, you will see yet another downed tree on your left. This one is doing a balancing act... Emily noticed that it looks like see-saw. As you go off the trail and get closer, you will see that it is actually balancing on the top of the uprooted part of another fallen tree. Tucked under the base of the bottom tree, you will find Box#3. BOX#3 IS WHERE WE ALL CAN AGREE!!!!!
Before leaving Willowbrook to find Box#4, explore the numerous trails here... there are other letterboxes hiding in these woods.

Clue 4 (KEN'S CARDS & COLLECTIBLES):
This final Box is located at Ken's Cards & Collectibles, 202 Kensington Ave. (Hours: Tu-F 12-7, Sa 11-5, Sun 1-5, closed Monday) Directions from Willowbrook: Exit from the main entrance taking a right onto Rte 71. Drive only .3 miles. McDonald's in on your left and Ken's is directly accross the street in a mini-strip-mall. (Great Sushi lunch specials next door at Happy Garden.)
Ask Ken for Box#4. Please be careful not to scratch his glass countertops. My son loves this place and could get lost in here for hours. Talk about an indecisive kid!!!

I hope you had fun with our family's dilema! Comments and HH welcome... to express your own opinions!!!!
