Scout Lake is just 1 mile above Suttle Lake. It is a swimming lake and no dogs are allowed. Stupid rule, dogs like to swim too! Oh well, there is plenty of shade so you can leave them in the car.

From Suttle Lake take the road uphill just past South Shore CG.

Start at the self-service pay station and walk 40 steps at 210 degrees to two stumps.

Take 50 steps at 240 degrees to a restful spot/clearing.

Take 50 steps at 210 degrees to three tall trees framed by two 30 ft tall stumps on each side.

From these trees walk to the water’s edge. You should be able to see nearly all of this lake at this spot except part of the lake on your right. Walk to the part you cannot see.

Pass by some old stumpy guys.

Continue along the water’s edge until you spot a 1-foot tall green topped plastic Armor box in the distance at 10 degrees. Go to that box.

Continue uphill on the path that is in front of you; stop at the longest horizontal retaining feature in front of you.

Once past the horizontal feature head North East over the hard and black.

At the first Y go right.

When the Law says to go right you must go left.

Stop at the large charred stump on your left 4 steps off of the hard and black.

At 35 degrees you should see 3 stumps with new growth between them. There is a yellow sign in the distance at 305 degrees from the charred stump.

Take 17 steps at 70 degrees to a South end of a log. The Letterbox is tucked in behind some wood.

When researching our clues please be aware that when previous searchers list “ATTEMPTED” on the clue sheets it may reflect more on their abilities as finders than indicate whether the box is viable or not. We do monitor our clues and boxes pretty well and appreciate the notes written to us by those that find or attempt our letterboxes.
