Spring Lake Park and the Spring Lake Letterbox in Santa Rosa can be accessed through at least two official park entrances. The official entrance for a short walk is the Violetti Drive entrance and here is the website where you can check out the map:

But there are many roads to Rome so decide after you’ve studied the map, taken the day’s temperature, studied your watch and decided how far you want to walk.
To find the Spring Lake Letterbox via Vioetti Drive park almost immediately in the parking area after passing the park kiosk wherein you pay $6. Next locate the Environmental Discovery Center. When you find it nod to a Dubell and head onto the trail SW and behind. Follow that trail and at the first fork keep left. At the second fork keep left. At the can hit the trail going up and SSE. Admire the little houses to your left. Reach the oak on your right almost on the path and check out the bigger house about ten feet above you. Keep going past the rock cemetery on your right followed by the rock cemetery on your left. Walk on by and soon take a path to the left. You’re heading in the correct direction if you pass the termination of a fence. Walk a little way until you reach a wider trail. At the point where you arrive at the wider trail turn about face and walk about thirteen steps back down the path. At that point you will find a buckeye tree with a boulder in front of it to your immediate left. The box will be wedged under the boulder on its south side and hidden by another rock.
Thanks for coming!
