Start at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Walk up David Ave. half a block and turn right on the recreation trail. After one block, you will see a large sign saying "Welcome to Pacific Grove" and some smaller signs that tell about research at the Hopkins Marine Station.
In about a block, you will pass a boat on the right with the name Anthony Boy. The building past the gate is the Hopkins Marine Station. Another block or 2 will bring you to a beach covered in seals, which you can observe through the cyclone fence. In two more blocks, you will come to your first bench to sit and look at the bay. Do you see any sea lions, otters, or seals?
The path curves to the right now, to a grove of cypress trees. If you are a kid/kid-at-heart, stop to climb on the rocks here. There is a bench here, too.
A block further, where the path splits, take the smaller trail to the right, but NOT the tiny one on the far right. A little farther, there is a clump of rocks with wood chips at the base that overlooks the Lovers' Point Cove. On the side closest to the beach, about 2 feet up and under an oblong rock is the letterbox.
