Hungry Caterpillar

Bring your own ink. Purple and green markers recommended.

Bristol Town Recreational Trail is located on either side of the Bristol Consolidated School on Route 130. You can park at the school by the 8th grade bottle collection area. Walk a short way south on Rte 130 to the trail head with a kiosk (at the time of the plant the kiosk was still under construction).

Bug spray is suggested and keep an eye out for poison ivy. While the walk is nice at anytime, the water views are more enjoyable at mid to high tide.

Follow the trail over a small bridge and pass through a stone wall. Go down a set of stairs and over a little creek. You will pass under an apple tree before you get to another bridge. Cross the bridge and look for an old pine tree with a bulbous growth to your right. Look on the ground on the back side of the pine for the Hungry Caterpillar.

Continue forward on the trail and enjoy some nice views of a quiet cove. When the trail forks bear right and follow along a little stream and the trail will loop back to the second bridge and return the way you came.
