Pink Floyd The Wall is arguably the most well known concept rock album, stage production and motion picture in the history of music. It is the story of the rock star character Pink, who slowly loses himself to depression, isolation and self destruction.
The song and movie scene In the Flesh is sometimes misinterpreted, but is one of the most important satires in the movie. Pink has a fantasy that he is a dictator and delivers a hate speech to a rally of uniformed followers. It is a dire warning of what can happen when we build up walls of personal, social and cultural isolation.
Tear down the wall!
In Tyler State Park, take the paved Covered Bridge Trail and walk until you get to where the trail intersects. One of the trail names there should remind you of the album cover of Atom Heart Mother.
Don’t go that way, though. Take the trail on the right. It doesn’t have Pink in the trail's name, but it does go by another color.
Walk along the trail and you’ll get to the end of a field on the left. You won’t see any sheep or pigs (flying or otherwise) in it. However, another animal uses the trail on the right.
Go about 40 p down the trail and turn left.
Stand on the trail between 2 old fenceposts.
I Wish You Where Here to enjoy the view of the field and farmhouse.
276* and about 7p brings you to the Relics of a hollow tree. (Careful with that Axe, Eugene.)
