MILFORD SERIES (3)

Box # 1

Your search for the first letterbox begins in a part of town known as the “Jervis Gordon Grist Mill Historic District”. Start in front of the building and enter thru the entrance of the book shop. Prior to entering the actual book store, take the stairs on the right and go down to the lower level. Stay straight and enter the actual mill area. Follow the path upstairs to the second level. Enter the second level and look for water wheel on your right. There is another room on your left. Enter this room and locate the runnerstone. It should be near the window. The box is located on the floor behind the runnerstone on the left hand side. Be careful not to be seen taking out the letterbox, people can see you from the window. The stamps need to be found in succession. Once they are all found they will complete the “Milford Series” Stamp.

Box # 2

This letterbox can be found in a part of town modeled after the home of cowboy singers Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, only this time it is in Milford PA instead of California. You can walk here from Location # 1 if you want but driving would be best.
Park in front of the restaurant. From the front of the restaurant go right to follow the path, keeping the parking lot to your right, follow the path around the shops, notice a red well on your right. Just ahead you can stop and feed the ducks. Continue to the right and find the “Old Schocopee School House” The school house was built in 1850. From the entrance to the school house. Find the northern most corner ( located between the school and the tourist information stand.) This corner of the school is being held up by a concrete block. What your looking for is buried under a piece of wood and some leaves next to this concrete block. Please rehide well. Remember, The stamps need to be found in succession. Once they are all found they will complete the “Milford Series” Stamp.

Box # 3

The last box in this series should also be the easiest. It is located across the street from the only building in Milford that has an oversized fish ( a pike) weather vain on top of it. Across the street from this building is a war memorial honoring soldiers and sailors from Pike County. Please take a minute to pay your respects to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Proceed up the steps of the memorial and walk to the back right hand corner. Look for the letterbox under the green plants just before the corner of the memorial. This should complete the stamp.

Please be sure to hide the letterboxes better than you found them. If there is anything wrong with them or the boxes are missing, please let me know. My email address is nats31499@hotmail.com. Thank you
