Difficulty: Easy
Distance to Minibox: 200 yards
Status of Minibox: ALive and well on 5/27/2009
The "Royal Lion" is located at Edith Moore Nature Center, along with many other interesting boxes. This is a great place to get lost in, and very warm today!
Directions:
From I-10, go south on Sam Houston Parkway (Beltway 8) Frontage road for about 1 mile, then turn right on Memorial Drive. Go about 1/2 mile and turn left on Wilchester Blvd (just across creek). Go about 1/10 mile and turn left into the Edith Moore Sanctuary and park by the cabin.
To the Minibox:
Take the trail east past the cabin and cross the bridge over Rummel Creek. Go straight on main trail. Past 4 benches on the left. Pass trail on the left. Stop at sign post for the park. Across trail from the sign post is a wooden fence. Go to the 1st post. Box is behind the tree, that is behind that post, at the base, covered with the normal stuff.
