To find this letterbox, you need to Discover the middle school. Travel east on Hwy 27 from downtown Alexandria. Turn north on McKay. You will pass Henry's, then cross the railroad tracks. There is the school on your left. If you were to drive in back of the school, you would a remarkable athletic complex, including a track, tennis courts, and baseball diamonds. You can take my word for it, and keep going past the school. Pass four buildings on the west side of the street, and you will see a dirt lot on the left. Drive into this lot, and park in the back by the chain link fence. There will be a hole in the fence where you can pass through, and go down the cement stairway. At the bottom, turn right and walk around the outside of the outfield. All the way on the other side, when you come to the last light pole on the third base side, start looking in the brush on your right. About halfway between the last light pole and the shed, there will be two downed tree trunks forming a victory sign at the edge of the brush line. The right-hand leg of the V has a ragged log leaning on it. The letterbox is wedged between these two logs. Hopefully this is a remote enough place that it will stay here for a long time. Please be sure it is securely tucked away before you leave.
