BOX WASHED AWAY!

Sorry, this box was washed away in a huge flood in the fall of 2008. We will replace it the next few weeks. (11/17/2008)

About a mile and a half of level terrain. A good little bike ride.

Holmes Run is a creek that divides Annandale and Falls Church. There is a park called “Holmes Run II” or “Holmes Run Stream Valley Park” that connects Rose Lane on the Annandale side and Slade Run Drive on the Falls Church side. There is a bridge that spans the two sides of the creek. Standing on the Falls Church side, follow the path that parallels the creek in the same direction as the flow of water.

The path will make a sharp right turn and disappears into the water. The stepping stones are the best way across.

While standing on the middle stepping stone, take a bearing of 235 degrees. On this heading (over a rise and just out of your line of sight), you will find three giant chunks of wood. Look under these chunks for what you seek and another set of directions.
