BATMAN IS HAS GONE MISSING AGAIN. I WILL RECARVE AND REPLANT WHEN I CAN. THE JOKER REMAINS IN HIS HIDEOUT THOUGH. 5/2/10

I wanted to do a series dedicated to my favorite superheroes- The Justice League of America and where better to start than with a tribute to the Dark Knight himself: Batman. This mission starts at the Woodridge Park District (just west of the Woodridge Public Library). On the right side of the building there are stairs down to a blacktop trail. Follow the path left past the playground. Pass the bridge on your right and travel through the tunnel under Woodridge Drive. Follow the creek and cross over the first bridge on your right. Follow the trail as it curves lift and cross over another bridge. Before you cross the next bridge, there will be a clearing on your right. Among the trees there is a slight deer path. Enter the path and take 5 steps in. Take a right through some brush to the fence line. On the ground to your left you will see a rock, Batman is there in his new Batcave. (The notebook is in the second box, so stamp your logbook and head back to the trail and over that third bridge.) Now that you’ve found Gotham’s (err…Woodridge’s) hero, head back to fight some crime. Follow the path right until it forks. Take the left fork and cross 71st Street. Ahead on your right you will see another bridge leading back into the woods. Go over the bridge and follow the trail until you find a woodchip path on your left. Follow this path over the wooden footbridge. When the path begins to split, take the first left you can. Go past the fallen tree with the rungs until you come to a small tree in the middle of the path. Go three paces forward and turn left off the woodchip path. Go 11 paces in and you should come to a tree with a large opening at the bottom facing away from the path. This is the villain’s hideout. Once you’ve stamped the notebook head back to the path and continue until you can take a right back down the path you came.
