Hiking With A Friend Is Fun .
NOTE 10/12/2009 Please get a new map from on line or at trail head , the trail blazes have been painted different colors so an old map will not work .
There are about five or more ways to enter the Oswegatchie Hills Nature Preserve . Which ever way you choose , you are sure to have fun . A map of the Preserve will be helpful ~~~.www.oswhills.org ~~~ Always stay on the blazed trails . .
Today , I hiked with a friend, and to find the box I planted , and find out who I hiked with – I would suggest you park at the Main Entrance at Veterans Field in East Lyme . We walked in on the blue trail and turned onto the blue blazed trail going north . When watched the trail and came to a blue intersection and and turned onto the right blue trail ,and began our fun hike going up and down and over the greatest rocks . Such fun . Then came to an orange trail and we stayed on blue going to the right again to hike north on the Blue Trail Notice Orange again on the left , but stay on Blue Soon we were climbing over a stone wall and coming out of the woods into a small open area. We stopped at two large boulders on the right and noticed the stone wall now on our right A large flat stone and a two sister tree are both close to the two large boulders. Under the south west end of the flat stone in a little cave is hiding the answer, to which friend was hiking with me today ..
Hope you enjoy this Preserve . and have fun hiking with your friends .
Use the map and return to the parking lot on blue , or maybe take that orange trail for a little change , it connects back to the blue . and soon the parking lot
