Matthew Schroeder was a dear friend of my husband and I. He passed away unexpectedly on May 21, 2008. Matt found alot of joy in working with children with special needs and he was great at it.This box was placed in memory of Matt and all of the great work he did to help children with special needs. We will miss him more than words will ever be able to discribe.

Matthew was buried in Palmers cemetary in Preston Connecticut.

"When we've been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, We've no less days to sing God's praise Than when we first begun."

Begin your journey at the Preston four corners (intersection of 164 and 165) Head towards Norwich on Rt. 165. Notice Preston Elementary School on your right.

Take a right onto Prodell Rd. follow the road to the end and take a left onto Old Jewett City Road. Continue on Old Jewett City Road until you see a blue sign that reads Palmer Cementary on your right. Right after the blue sign take a right onto Stanton Lane which is marked on a white post. Follow the road until you come to another Palmer Cememtary sign and take a right. You will feel as if you are driving through someones driveway. Just follow the road until you see the cementary.

At the gate fo left and find Matthew Schroeder's grave stone. On our last visit it was a small marker.

Once you find where Matthew was laid to rest follow the stone wall to the south bottom corner and look west.

Go to the second maple tree and hop down off of the stone wall.

Stand directly behind the tree and face it. Look in a small crevis to your left and you will find what you are looking for.
