When I was growing up, this area was known as Hunslow's Hill. More recently, the area was purchased by the Town, and someone found the name Hunsley's Hill on a map. The newer name became official. What the locals call it now largely depends upon how long they've lived in the area.

The box is located in the Hunsley Hills Conservation Area on Rt 133. The trail leaves from the rear of the parking lot, to the left of the sign. In keeping with the name confusion, we are going to alternate trails. At the first fork, bear right. Within 100 feet, you will come to the next fork; stay left. At the third and final fork, keep right again. The trail ends near the top of the hill at the power lines.

Walk to the right along the power lines, slightly uphill, keeping the lines on the left. KEEP AWAY FROM THE POWER LINES. They can be dangerous. 'Nuff said about that.

Soon you will see a two-trunked tree on the right. A few feet beyond the forked tree, you will see a moderately-sized boulder with a pointed top. Beyond the rock is another forked tree, on which one fork has been cut down. Put your back to this tree and walk 10 steps toward the power lines. Slightly to your left you will see a small boulder set into the ground. The box is behind this rock.

Safety notes: this area is infested with deer ticks which can carry Lyme disease. Long pants and bug spray are a must. Also, while hunting is officially forbidden in the conservation area, it is allowed in the surrounding areas. Take appropriate precautions during hunting season. Finally, beware of poison ivy.

With all that said, have fun!
