This box was designed and placed with children in mind. Many of us play in this park and don't realize the beauty beyond the playground. I highly suggest bringing a picnic lunch for this one!

GIRL POWER!

Head to Rochester Park, but don't stop at the tennis courts or the playground, follow the entrance road all the way to its end where there's a built-in turnaround and grab a parking spot there. You'll notice a large tree with a sign on it talking about the safety of eating fish from the Sheboygan River. To the right of this tree, you'll see an opening into the woods. Walk towards the opening to a path into the woods. As it leads down to the river, you'll see on your left a pile of long fallen trees; step over the pile and head into the trees. But wait! before you go, take a moment to make note of the quiet little fishing spot on the river's edge straight ahead of you. This is also a great place to put in kayaks or canoes for a beautiful morning or afternoon of paddling. Ok, back to the pile of logs on your left, step over them and head into the trees, admire the great size of many of these trees. Continue along and look for a large mound of dirt, packed hard over a bunch of long logs. Walk over this mound of dirt and look straight ahead to the enormous tree directly in front of you. It's got many large limbs and thick shaggy bark, and oh, what's this? A small opening, about chest high. Find the treasure in this hole in a small camo plastic container, stamp in, and take a goodie for the kids. Be sure to cover it the way you found it since it is close to eye level.

*** UPDATE: November 14, 2008, this second box was removed to perform maintenance and will be replaced soon. Please wait until it's posted here before seeking this box. ***

Go back out of the woods the way you came in, back up the path and out into the grass and as you enter the opening, head right and walk along the crest of this small hill. It veers left and you'll notice a small white birch tree up ahead. Continue towards the white birch tree and as you get closer, you'll notice a great little picnic spot complete with a grill and usually a picnic table and garbage can. Head to this little picnic spot and have a seat. There's trees, brush & the river on one side of the grill. On the opposite side of the grill, there's two large bushes growing together, perfect for concealing treasure hunters as they crawl on hands and knees to the base of one of the bushes in search of the treasure they came for, hidden in a small camo plastic container. Stamp in, place the box right where you found it, and remember to take a goodie for the kids!
