Praying Mantis - the Baby Letterbox

THE BABY IS GONE, TOO BAD CAUSE IT WAS MY BEST CARVE. I won't be replacing it. Pulled and archived.

I went to get my snail mail out of my mail box and to my joyous surprise were two baby praying mantises to greet me. I haven’t seen a praying mantis for a very long time, and I believe that if an animal shows itself to you, then you are to receive a message from the Creator. All you have to do is open your eyes and heart to the message. I looked up the Praying Mantis symbolism and found this:

The praying mantis symbolizes stillness, meditation and prayer. Praying Mantis represents the power of calmness, inner reflection, stillness in healing or in creativity, patience, and blending in with the environment becoming invisible.

Some Martial Arts use the Praying Mantis movements to help the student reconnect with their personal chi or energy.

These amazing creatures serve the earth and her people in various ways. They consume large amounts of insects helping to maintain ecological balance. Excellent hunters with an efficient attack strategy, the praying mantis always knows the right moment for attack and for retreat. Time in the linear sense is irrelevant to the mantis. They move according to their inner instincts and remind us to do the same.

The color Green is good for the baby mantis.

Clue:

The baby Praying Mantis is hiding around a garden of course…specifically the Champaign Park District’s Eddie Albert Garden plots located in Dodd’s Park. Park in the Eddie Albert Garden parking lot on the far Northwest side. Stand on the very edge of the northwest side of the parking lot and turn facing North. You will see a concrete champaign park district enclosure. Go to the West side of this enclosure and look at the concrete block wall. These blocks are huge. From Right to Left: second column, second row,in the second hole from the right you will find the baby. Or just look at the wall, 2nd row, 3rd hole from your left.

This is a micro cylinderletterbox with a childproof screw-type lid.(push in then turn left) Please replace the paper and stamp exactly as seen so all will fit again. Please bring your own ink pad and pen. Make sure the lid is tight, hide it secretly as it can be a busy area, and make sure the black lid is facing out and push it back as far as it will go.

This is an easy find. Enjoy. Take a lesson from the Praying Mantis Baby. Walk to the picnic table, sit, meditate, and in the stillness, listen to your inner self.
