Status 10/25/2009 - Box alive and well, and clues updated.
Begin your search by parking at the old zoo picnic area in Griffith Park, and walk uphill on the road that leads up to the old animal enclosures. At the fork go left by the enclosures that are now picnic areas. Keep left (not the swithback that takes you behind those enclosures) past more cages, past the steps going down, until the road makes a sharp turn to the right over a stream (dry). (update 10/25/09 - recent construction in this wash, now filled in). Go another 35-40 steps on road and take the tiny trail on left up to the chain link fence. From here follow the fence line to the right to the corner. The box is behind or to the right of the small tree about a foot beyond the corner under a rock and some leaves. Please cover and re-hide well.
