DRUM MAJOR:

Location: Blackstone/Millville High School, 175 Lincoln St.
Blackstone, MA
Difficulty: Easy
Time: 15 Minutes

In the spring of 2005 our daughter joined the Color Guard for the SHRHS marching band & we became “band parents”.
This is one in a series of 6 boxes planted in honor of her senior year & dedicated to “band geeks” & their parents everywhere.
Each box is planted at a different site were the SHRHS marching band has competed this (fall 2008) season. We are privileged to be able to travel with a group of hard working kids & staff, who continually amaze us with their dedication, music & high scores at MICCA, NESBA & USSBA shows. GO SHRHS!

As most of these boxes are located on High School property please plan your searches for when school is NOT in session. Better yet find out when each school hosts their home show & after letterboxing enjoy some great music & field shows. Maybe we’ll see you there.

CLUES:
Enter the driveway to Blackstone/Millville High School, watch on your right for a clearing in the trees & set off down the hill a visible gravestone. You can either park & come back to this spot or if nothing is going on at the school you could just pull over.
Walk to the gravestone of John Cass. Facing this stone look to your right & you should see a stone boundary marker, walk to it. Facing this marker you will notice two more, one to your right & one to your left. Go to the one on your left. Facing this marker look to your right & you will find two clumps of large bushes, their multi-trunks close together. Nestled between these two clusters of trunks you will find the Drum Major keeping time.

DRUM MAJOR: Leader of a marching band, responsible for providing commands to the band as to where to march, what to play & what time to keep.

After stamping in please seal & rehide this box carefully. Box 2 will be planted in Gardner on 10/4/08.
