This box was placed by a 6 year old boy. This is his first box and he is very excited to be a part of letterboxing!

From Farmington take Hwy 170 North until you see the LaPlata Mine Overpass (It is the only overpass on the highway). It's approximently 15-20 minutes up the highway. Slow down because you will turn left directly after you spot the overpass. On the south side of the overpass is a park, it's on the east side of the highway. County Road 1191 about 1000 feet south of the overpass is the entrance to the park. Pull in and park along the white fence.

Walk east thru the white gate (go around it if it is closed, the park is open from sun up to sun down but not always open to vehicles) Stay on the roadway, past the stairs that go up the hill, until the road turns north. You will pass one picnic table. As you reach the second picnic table, look to the east and notice the railroad ties placed in the hill by what used to be the volleyball court. In the second row from the top, about 1/3 of the way across from the far right the Red Dragon box is resting.

Blue Ice is eagerly awaiting an email that someone has stamped his box1 Happy hunting!
