Francis C. Carter Memorial Preserve

Directions: From I-95, take exit 3-Route 138 East
Continue to the intersection with Route 112
Bear right onto Route 112 and continue south through Richmond
Continue through the intersection with Route 91 and over the railroad bridge
To the Route 112 entrance: Watch for the preserve sign on the right
A short dirt road leads to the parking area

Clue:
Follow the yellow trail N-NW past #2 on the self guided tour. At the fork in the road, bear left, (Red trail goes right) continuing on the yellow trail until the next fork in the road. Take the left fork onto "Split Rock Trail" blazed in white heading S-SE. At the first large boulder split in half, you will find "Sunny" hidden under the roof. Please stamp and rehide carefully. continue on the white blazed trail past many more gigantinormous split boulders. Continue on this trail walking the plank and crossing the wall back to #2 on the self guided tour. Turn right to return to your car.

Although hunting is prohibited in this area, we always use caution and wear blaze orange October-March.
