Hike Distance?

Michael Rennie was ill the day the earth stood still
But he told us where we stand
And Flash Gordon was there in silver underwear
Claude Raines was the invisible man
Then something went wrong for Fay Wray and King Kong
They got caught in a celluloid jam
Then at a deadly pace it came from outer space
And this is how the message ran:

"You wake up in a park you are wet and sticky this makes your color brown. As you come to you realize that you are in Gleason Park. As you head toward the dumpsters you notice something strange to the right.

This means that your color is now green. You think to yourself that if 'X' marks the spot then in this twisted world 'X' marks the start in this delirious adventure. The 'X' that you are looking at is pure asphalt and you see a lone rock in one corner. Opposite the rock you see a white box with an arrow pointing north and the word start. You stare and consider what this could mean and go in the opposite direction of the arrow. Now your color is red.

As you walk along this journey you pass by a light to your right, up the path you see the second light, and half way there see yet another to the left. Your head begins to hurt as you notice that this strange misplaced light is actually on a power pole. Now your color is white.

You think to your self if the Lord is our Father then Satan must be our cousin. Why do things always keep happening this way? You head toward the pole and see the fork in the path. Now your heading should be to the right, and your color is orange.

As you walk you begin to count your paces and at sixteen you spot a branch on your left that has a black plastic bag tied around it. If black is the real world then purple must be my color.

You start the count over and go thirty-three. Here you will notice that the trail has come to an end and you must make a choice to go right or left. The pain and ringing in your head is now unbearable and you don't make the right decision. As you go twenty more paces you fall to you knees and look to the left. Under the brush you find where Bella Lugosi sleeps. Your color is now gray, and reality starts to push its way back in."
