Park at the end of Forest Park Drive. There's no parking lot, just park by the side of the road. There's a gate and a stone wall that marks the beginning of the trail. Head down the trail a couple of hundred yards until you come to a fork. Take the trail to the left.

You'll continue slightly downhill and pass through another stone wall. There should be a hill on your right with lots of interesting stones for climbing. Continue on. Depending on the season, the trail may get slightly muddy through here.

You'll some come to another intersection. Look around - there's lots of really big old trees here. Unusual for this area. Take the trail to the right back up the hill. Go through the dip and continue climbing until you reach a T intersection.

Standing in the intersection, turn right and take 30 steps. There should be a long stone bench on your right. It makes a nice place to sit down for a drink and a snack.

Past the rock bench, turn right and look into the woods. You should see two tree stumps about 30 steps away. Walk past them to the next tree and find a big flat rock at the base. Look under this rock.

If you get to a little hill with a mystery structure on top, you've gone too far. Turn around and look behind you.

When you're done, walk back out to the trail and turn right. Going this way will allow you to continue the loop back to your car.

I planted this with my kids one day. After we got back, we realized our letter box is located within 100 feet or so of the Carlisle Pines one. I guess great minds think alike!
