Black Rock State Park located on Route 6. There will be an entrance fee on weekends during the summer. About 2 hours round trip. Lots of ups and downs so please think twice about doing this series if it's snowy or icy. The first 4 boxes are micro boxes containing only a stamp and some ink. The 5th has a first finder bonus for the first three finders. please only take one. And the last box has the only log book for the series.

Park on the left as soon as you get past the guard booth and walk up the road towards the beach. After the dressing rooms turn right past handicapped parking and across the field to a large metal bridge.

Cross the bridge and make an immediate left and head over another smaller bridge. Pass a look out sign on the left and continue on to a Black Rock map board which will be up ahead on your right. from the map board site 230 and go 24 paces to the crook where four fallen meet.

Go back to the mao board and go right on red up and up. cross a stream and stay on red keeping the stream on your left for a while. Pass a marshy area on the right and then up up again. Soon you will come to a large rocky area with a cave on your right. You will see a spikey tree on the ground as soon as you reach it. From this tree site 22 to a 5 foot stump. Directly behind this stump under foot is a small mossy ledge. beneith this ledge is box 2.

Back on red up up through a gully, through an open area and back into the woods. Soon you will come to another map board on the right. At this point go left on blue up the hill. At the top of the hill you will see 2 tall barkless dead trees. Stand between these trees and site 230. Walk 15 steps to another (smaller) dead barkless with a flat rock at its base. Here you will find box 3.

Head back to the map board crossing the trail you came up on and stay straight on blue. Up then down and across a stream. Up the large mossy rocks and soon you will walk between two small boulders on the trail. Through a V birch on your right you will see a stone wall. From the V go due North to a cranny in the wall. You do not need to move any rocks in the wall to retrieve this box.

Continue on blue from here eventually crossing through a stone wall. Soon you will come to a red white boundry marker on your left. Stay on blue. Cross the clearing and head back into the woods. As soon as you head back into the woods you will see a low stone wall on your right. Follow it for 38 steps to a fallen on your left. At its roots you will find the 5th box which holds the box stamp and the first finder gift fot the first three finders.

Head back down the wall and continue on blue crossing a large stream and then a road. The trail heads up hill until you come to a stone wall. Head left down the front of the stone wall to the first small tree. Behind this tree in a hole concealed by 1 rounded rock in the wall is where you will find the final box in the Tribal art series I. Tribal Art Series II coming soon. Hope you enjoyed the hike.
