We're a couple of old geezers who enjoy letterboxing, but who tend to limit our hiding and seeking activity to drive-bys and places that involve easy walks. If we're a long way from home, in a place we might not visit again, we think it's more fun to seek and find easy boxes in several different locations, rather than pursue one hard one. We think our "low impact" letterbox style works work well for families with young children, too.

First Class:

Write a postcard to your Aunt Maude and mail it at the Lawai post office on Highway 50. Then check out the banyan tree at the rear of the post office parking lot.

Stand in front of the tree, with your back to the parking lot. To the right of the big crotch, near the middle of the tree and about 5' off the ground, there's a vertical pocket about 6" deep. In the pocket is a camouflaged Lock 'n' Lock box that contains a commercially-made stamp that was just too good not to use in this situation! Poke around with a stick if the box doesn't readily come to hand.

This is a busy post office. You may have to hang out a while before you can search for and replace the box without drawing attention to yourself.....

And watch out! We've heard that this hiding place also houses tiny little ANTS!!!!! Be brave and/or careful!
