One of the best things about letterboxing is the excuse to go on a road trip. One of the best road trips I/v been on is Texas state highway 183. On my first trip down highway 183 I came across the LONE STAR MOTORCYCLE MUSEUM. It is located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country with beautiful motorcycling roads all around it. It has a collection of vintage motorcycles from around the world dating from the 1910's to modern times. Inside the museum is the Ace Cafe is located in the Museum offering Gourmet Hamburgers, Aussie meat pies, salads and deserts.
The museum is only open during the week ends and it is closed in the winter, see its website at http://lonestarmotorcyclemuseum.com/ for its current status.
The museum is on highway 187 4 miles north of Vanderpool, Texas and less then a mile south of the Los Maples State Park
The letterbox is located on the outside of the fence at the base of the left gate post under some rocks.
