Warther Series: dedicated to the memory of Ernest “Mooney” Warther”
Short, Easy
2 boxes
Dover, Ohio

Warther lived in a time when locomotives were king--combined with his love of carving--Warther’s carvings of locomotives in walnut, ebony, and ivory still are a marvel today. Warther combined history and artistry with motion by making the locomotives run authentically. His precision and detail reflect Warther’s amazing skills. He also carved canes, a steel mill and the famous Pillars tree of 511 interconnected pliers. (This amazing feat of carving is featured in the Guiness Book of World Records. ) He also makes the BEST knives which are for sale in the gift shop. A trip to see and experience his talent and dedicated life style is certainly worth your time--but a little pricey. www.warthers.com/museum.htm

Dover is off Ohio route 77 at exit #83. Take route 211 about ¼ mile, past the Speedway to the light. The Warther Museum will be up the hill on your right. Maple Grove Cemetery will bo on your left. At the light bear left and turn immediately left into the cemetery.
Bear right at the “Y” going uphill. Keep right--you’re getting “Warm”.
Continue to “Myers”-- a large obelisk for Robert and Henrietta.
Park there.
Standing behind Myers, walk 14 steps to the Byers Plot--You will be standing between two cedar trees. The cedar on the western side--by John W has “Pliers”. It is behind a small piece of slate at the base of the tree.

Next, return to your car and walk across the road. Walk past “Deardorff”,, “Gleitsman” and “Weber”.
The Brannan stone is flanked by two trees covered with bushes. Stand BEHIND Brannan. Scrape a bit under the left hand tree (east) on the ground near the trunk.
You’ll find “Train”.

Let us know if you find the Warther boxes. Rehide carefully.
