The Bennehan Bee is hidden near the home of Richard and Mary Bennehan at the seat of what became the largest plantation in antebellum North Carolina. This home was built in 1787 and 1799.
Begin at the Visitor’s Center and proceed up the gravel path toward the Bennehan House. Just before the path dead ends into the lawn behind Bennehan House look to your right for the concrete block. The Bennehan Bee is buzzing nearby. “Bee” sure to visit the rest of this important and unique site!
